#WCMSP is Virtual! Here’s what you need to know.
As we set the virtual stage for our first fully-digital WordCamp Minneapolis/St Paul, we want to make sure you, our attendees, have access to all of the information needed to navigate this event at your fingertips. This page covers logistics, links, and everything you need to make your camp experience a success. So grab a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and settle in for some exceptional talks!

What is the Schedule? How Long are Talks?
You can find our schedule right here. Each talk on Friday, August 21st will start right on the hour at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00. Speakers will finish their session at least 10 minutes before the top of the hour, so you have time to grab a snack, move your body, and prepare for the next session.
Lunch Break will be from 12:00 – 1:00. We encourage you to use this time to visit our sponsors in the Hallway Track. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with them, and other camp attendees, in a number of different Zoom Rooms.
Opening & Closing Remarks
We invite you to join us at 8:45 for opening remarks, and 4:00 for closing remarks. These will all be streamed on our Track 1 live stream.
Do I Need Special Equipment?
We strongly recommend attending our virtual camp on a Desktop computer or laptop, though talks will be accessible on tablets and mobile phones. All of our tracks will be streaming on YouTube Live, and will be embedded in our website. If you have ever watched a YouTube video before, you should be all set to go! Make sure that your volume is turned on, so you can hear our speakers.
How Do I Participate in the Chat?
Great question! We encourage you to join in the chat service on YouTube Live. You will need to be logged into a YouTube account in order to participate in the chat. Note that speakers won’t be paying attention to the chat as they deliver their talk, but we do have a moderator in each room reading the chat. If you have a question, post it in the chat. Our moderators will compile questions and have the speaker address as many as they have time for at the end of their talk.
Code of Conduct Expectations
Our virtual camp will follow the same code of conduct that would apply to a physical event. This means that we expect you to be respectful, not to use bully or hate speech, and to be courteous to speakers and other attendees. Our code of conduct applies to presentations and chat rooms, and to Sponsor Zoom rooms alike.
Each session will be moderated by a volunteer, and volunteers will introduce themselves at the beginning of each session.
